SECURE DATA ERASURE

Do you have an old computer, hard disc drive or other data storage device that you would like to recycle or donate to charity, but are concerned about the data on it?

Personal and financial data are a goldmine to criminals and can be recovered relatively straightforwardly from hard drives and other storage devices, even if the data has been deleted and the storage device reformatted. Consider a disc drive as a wall coated with multiple layers of paint. The paint can be peeled back layer by layer until the bare plaster is reached. In the same way, 'layers' of data can be 'peeled' back from a hard drive until its raw manufactured state is reached.

As an alternative to removing the storage device and storing it or physically destroying it (which renders it non-recyclable and can result in rare earth minerals, precious metals and poisonous compounds going into landfill), we can apply military grade data erasure techniques to your storage device, meaning it can be recycled or reused safe in the knowledge that the data which was on it has gone forever.

We can securely erase data from mechanical and SSD hard drives as well as flash storage devices such as memory sticks. If required, we can provide a Certificate of Erasure.
